Kampala Hash House Harriers (KH3) was founded in July 1986 with 37 Hashers, all of whom were expatriates. KH3 has since come a long way, and presently over 100 Hashers from all walks of life, from firemen to bank managers, students to doctors, assemble every Monday at 6 p.m. at a different location in or around Kampala.
They enjoy a good “run” that lasts for about one hour, followed by the traditional communal “circle”, when “sinners” are ‘fined’ for transgressions and misdemeanours on the trail, after which Hashers mingle deep into the night over a few cold beers. The Hash venue is chosen by individual Hashers on a rotational basis.
